Versatility of the Sepax system

print page
Biosafe’s core technology platform, the Sepax system is a versatile solution for adult stem cell processing in the fields of both stem cell banking and regenerative medicine.

The combination of the compact Sepax main processing unit, application-specific software protocols and single-use kits allows the controlled separation of cellular products in a fully automated and closed environment - no other equipment is required.
With the appropriate Sepax system software protocol cord blood, bone marrow and peripheral blood can be separated using different separation methods, such as volume reduction, nucleated cell component (buffy-coat) concentration and density gradient based separation.
Each separation protocol has an associated single-use kit specifically configured to optimize the efficacy of the separation protocol. It is the user who decides how to configure the Sepax system according to his specific needs.

The versatility of the technology and associated products has made the Sepax system the industry standard in automated cell processing for stem cell banking and it is also used in routine regenerative medicine applications.

The Sepax system can be further enhanced for specific applications by addition of the Coolmix and the SepaxNet devices.
  • The Coolmix is an automated mixing and cooling device which allows the controlled and consistent preparation of stem cells for cryopreservation. Other cryopreparation accessories offered by Biosafe include the proprietary cryobags, overwrap bags, overwrap bag sealers and canisters for cryo-storage.
  • The SepaxNet is a fully integrated traceability system that enables networking of up to 20 Sepax and Coolmix devices. Procedure data is automatically sent to the SepaxNet central database and printed. SepaxNet can be used as a standalone system or interfaced with a customer’s existing network.
